YUMMY!! Made in Toronto these chocolates and treats are really fabulous. You can definitely taste the high quality chocolate. The Chocolate enrobed Cafe Latte might be my favorite ...well, the milk chocolate cappuccino toffee is really good...and....well, you really should try some!! Lesley McDougall of Mehndi Glass came by today with some new glasses for the shelves. Lesley free-hand paints all of her glasses, her designs are inspired by the art of Mehndi (henna). They are beautiful! Some of the new glasses have animal motifs, and she's brought some info on the meaning behind different animals. A must see!

Adrianne Kinsella lives in Kenora, Ontario. She creates her whimsical candle holders and vases using recycled glass. Each piece is painted and polymer clay is applied in layers to create these wonderfully unique pieces of art. No two are ever the same. I LOVE getting a shipment from Adrianne. I never know what's in the boxes. And its like every piece I unwrap is better than the last. It's so much fun! You really need to stop in and see these in person!

More beautiful work by our local woodworker, Jack. These trivets are made from local cherry wood. The maple leaf is a stencil made from an actual leaf that Jack found while cleaning his boat.... and it was 'perfect'. The trivet is for placing your hot teapot or other pots on but it's so beautiful you might want to display it in between uses! A gift like this supports a local artisan and up-cycles material. This is a perfect gift for someone that 'has everything'.

Local woodworker, Jack Harvey, is a long time Lyndhurst resident. He turns these bowls from wood he collects in Lyndhurst. Can't get more local than that! Jack tells me he finds it theraputic to take a raw peice of wood and turn it into a bowl. Once you see these beautiful bowls, I'm sure you will want to support Jack's therapy and take one home. They are food safe and make a great gift. We also have a few of Jack's inukshuk wood trivets available. |
